Periodontics involves the treatment of the supporting structures of the teeth, including the bone that supports the teeth and the gums that protect the bone. Treatment can be done to arrest disease, improve esthetics and replace missing teeth. Left untreated, periodontal problems can lead to red, swollen gums, loosening teeth and eventual tooth loss.
Doctors Steven H. Dweck specializes in the art and science of creating healthy smiles through the treatment of these periodontal problems. Our practice offers the treatment of gum disease, placement of dental implants and cosmetic periodontal surgery.

Meet The Doctors
Steven H. Dweck, DDS
Dr. Dweck received his Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1987. In 1993, he graduated with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the State University of New York at Buffalo and in 1995 he received his Periodontics Certificate from Medical College of Virginia.
Dr. Dweck has been in private practice since 1995, and has been a consultant to the VA Medical Center in Albany NY since 1996. Dr. Dweck is a past president of the Saratoga County Dental Society and Upper NYS Society of Periodontists, and is a past board member of the Upper Hudson Prenatal consortium.
Dr. Dweck is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association, NYS Dental Association, Upper NYS Society of Periodontists, Saratoga County Dental Society and Upper Hudson Dental Society.
TAHINA MUKIT, DMD
Dr. Tahina Mukit is a board-eligible periodontist originally from Queens, New York. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from New York University and went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. She then completed her specialty training in Periodontics at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Mukit is committed to providing personalized periodontal care with an emphasis on preserving natural teeth whenever possible before considering surgical options. She is passionate about patient education and strives to create a comfortable, collaborative environment where patients feel informed and empowered throughout their treatment. Her ultimate goal is to deliver the highest quality of care while building trust with her patients.
Outside of the office, Dr. Mukit enjoys spending time with her friends and family, exploring new restaurants, and cooking with her husband.
